After two weeks of travel around the USA and Canada, miles and miles of walking around Brooklyn and Manhattan, then three days of conference attending what would be top of your to do list? Running a 10K race was on mine and here is a race report from the Rock and Roll 10K in Brooklyn.

Since writing about my accident here I’ve had a few people get in touch who have found this blog via search engines as they are in a similar situation. So for anyone out there searching, I thought I would write up my experiences with trying to keep fit with a less than fully functional right arm.

It will soon be six months since I smashed up my elbow. I’m writing, sat in the garden, on the hottest day of the year so far. Yet I’m still struggling with the repercussions of the snow and ice in January.

Four weeks after my accident I got back into the gym again for a spin class. Before breaking my elbow I had a 99 week unbroken run on FourSquare for gym attendance. I’m rarely ill, and if injured I modify what I do rather than miss a workout completely, to not be in the gym for this long has been strange.
